Introduction
Laura Martínez-Sanz Collados has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 1995, having specialised in criminal law since the start of her career, and she is currently a partner at the firm. Her long experience in criminal law guarantees her expertise in advising and defending clients in all phases of criminal proceedings both in Spain and abroad. She masters all areas of Criminal Law, and her training and practice have led her to dedicate herself particularly intensively to the so-called Business Criminal Law or economic, property and corporate law and crimes against the Public Administration. Laura has extraordinary experience defending matters of great procedural and technical complexity in the courts, with particular emphasis on her work as a lawyer in matters of great national repercussion. She has also appeared as an expert witness in foreign courts.
Ms Martínez-Sanz began her career in 1995 in this same firm, rejoining it after eight years as head of the Criminal Department of the international law firm Baker&McKenzie.
Due to her extensive experience and the high quality of her defence of criminal litigation, Laura Martínez-Sanz has been chosen by the prestigious publications Chambers Partners, Legal500 and Best Lawyers as one of the most relevant lawyers in her practice (Dispute Resolution: Corporate Crime), as well as by specialised directories as one of the most outstanding women in the Spanish legal profession.
Laura has developed her teaching activity as Associate Professor of Criminal Law at the Carlos III University of Madrid and has also taught as an honorary member of the Criminal Law Department at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Ms Martínez-Sanz currently coordinates the Diploma of High Specialisation in Economic Criminal Law that this firm co-organises with the Complutense University of Madrid, at the School of Legal Practice, where she is also a member of the faculty and carries out teaching duties.
She is a member of various associations whose objective is the exchange of legal knowledge between different members of the profession, and is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defence Association (WWCDA) and the Spanish Business Litigation Club.

- Graduate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid.
- Graduated in the top three of her class at the School of Legal Practice (UCM)
- Diploma in Tax Law (EPJ-UCM).
- Obtained the Diploma of Research Sufficiency after completing her Doctorate Courses.
