Introduction

Ms Gutiérrez Rodríguez joined Oliva-Ayala at the end of 2006 and has been a partner at the Firm since 2010. She is currently a Professor of Criminal Law at the Complutense University of Madrid and provides legal advice under an Office of Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) Agreement between the Firm and the University.

She has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2000 and has extensive experience in advising national and international clients both in preventive matters and in legal proceedings, covering all areas of criminal law and, in particular, economic, environmental and international criminal law. Likewise, in the field of corporate criminal liability, she has been involved in implementing crime prevention programmes (compliance), including designing the whistleblowing channels in companies.

She is a lecturer on the Master’s Degree in Economic Criminal Law at King Juan Carlos University in Madrid and is coordinator and lecturer on the High Specialisation Criminal Law course at the School of Legal Practice of Complutense University. She has numerous publications on Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law.

EDUCATION

  • PhD in Law from the University of Seville.
  • Several pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research stays in Germany, at the Universities of Munich, Bonn and Berlin, and academic exchanges in Mexico, through the University of Guadalajara.
  • Member of national research teams and projects of competitive entities in the field of prevention and punishment of economic cartels, commission of and participation in international crimes, reparation for victims, tax fraud and legal entity criminal liability.
